Ontem estive no MCB onde essa semana começou a exposição dos finalistas do prêmio de Design. Vale a pena conferir, até porque está acontecendo uma outra exposição de design Sueco “Sementes Suecas” muito legal também.

Designers Ufuk Keskin and Efecem Kutuk took space saving to another level with their “SheetSeat” which is made of plywood and can be flattened to a mere 3/4″ space. The concept of a chair folding up this small is a remarkable innovation in modern design thinking.

Savannah Bent Wood Rocking Chair

Real wood-working is an art form that dates back to the inception of furniture itself, and Jolyon Yates carries on the tradition in style. According to Yates his focus is to “display the soul by reflecting the care and honesty with which they have been conceived and crafted in a world of loveless volume manufacturing”. The Savannah Rocker molds carefully selected Birch Ply into outrageous shape to create this mastery in modern design and depart from “mass production” principles.

Lacie hard drive by Philippe Starck..

french designer philippe starck has completed his latest collaboration with the computer peripheral
company lacie. starck first designed a series of hard dives for the company in the nineties. the latest
hard drive designs come in two sizes for mobile and desktop use. both feature a thick aluminum casing
that envelopes a reflective organic form on the inside. the mobile version has an ellipse form, while the
larger desktop model is rectangular and additionally features starck’s signature plus sign in an orange
LED. both feature a special surface which upon touching will launch the application of your choosing,
depending on the duration of the tap. the desktop model comes in 1tb and 2tb versions while the smaller
mobile hard drive boasts 320gb and 500gb capacities.
